Hello, I'm Chloe
I believe that children deserve to fully embrace their childhood. Together with my support, we can deliver a creative, educational environment for your children to thrive in a way that suits them. I am an empathetic, certified teacher with diverse experience in mainstream, neurodiverse, and tutoring classrooms. With a First Class Honours degree in English Language and Linguistics, I further honed my skills through my Postgraduate Certificate in Primary Education and have experience as a class teacher across all primary-aged grades, secondary special needs school, TEFL and online. I hold a valid Queensland Teacher Registration, Disability Worker Card, Level 3 TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) certificate and a Working with Children Check (WWCC). I'm dedicated to empowering young learners from all backgrounds and abilities, helping them reach their fullest potential. My passion for education inspires me to thrive and excel.
My Story
As a UK Citizen originally, I grew up in the small county of Cornwall. Cornwall is in the South West of the UK and is known for its beautiful farming land, tin mines, tranquil coastal walks, beaches and the famous Cornish pasty! I spent much of my childhood on the beach and in the ocean, when I wasn't on the farm splashing in the mud with the horses. My studies were completed within both Cornwall and Devon and I thoroughly enjoyed having my friends and family around during this time. However, after completing my studies and first three years as a Primary School Teacher, I believed it was time to spread my wings. I decided to book a one-way ticket to Australia and I've never looked back!
I've continued to travel, which has included taking a year trip around New Zealand, with a few trips back and forth to the UK in-between to visit family and to gain experience teaching in a Special Needs setting. Throughout my travels, I have developed and grown as a person and this has enhanced the dedication to my own learning, as well as my desire to help others learn too. Understandably, I decided that Australia feels most like home so I began teaching here in Queensland. This experience has allowed me to transfer my teaching skills from the UK and apply it to the Australian Curriculum. Today, I believe that I can combine my experience in a range of settings, including tutoring online, and my expertise in Literacy to provide an excellent service to young learners in a bespoke and inclusive way as an Online Literacy Tutor.
My Values and Vision
"My passion is in 'the whole child approach' where teachers, parents, tutors and healthcare professionals can collaborate to create a well-rounded, specialised and consistent approach for each child (Home-school Check Ins offer this element of parental/carer support). "
"Literacy skills not only hold the foundation for understanding all other curriculum subjects but also the world around us. We communicate to understand life and express ideas, whether that's through words, gestures or images."
"Tutoring allows me to make a difference in education whilst allowing children to flourish in a way that is truly unique to them through tailored and individualised learning plans."
